Meet Carolyn: A Music Lover, Adventurer, and Survivor

Carolyn and her husband, Tom, have been married for 11 years, united by their shared passion for music. Their love for live performances even shaped their unique “Wedstock 2013” wedding, which featured a concert theme. With their favorite local band, Road Trip, playing in their backyard, the celebration had all the fun of a live show—complete with “Event Staff” shirts, guitar pick cupcakes, and a jukebox card box. It was the perfect reflection of their love for music and each other.

Carolyn is also a proud stepmom to four adult stepchildren and grandmother to two wonderful grandkids. At home, she enjoys the company of her Bichon Frise, Brooklyn, and two cats, Token and Emma, who bring her endless joy.
Her passions include traveling and attending live music events—her ultimate combination for happiness. Recent adventures took her and Tom to Red Rocks in Colorado to see Michael Franti, and she joined friends for a trip to Nashville to see Alanis Morissette. An avid camper, Carolyn participates in an annual September trip sponsored by the Vic Ferrari band. While Vic Ferrari performs a special show on Saturday night, the event is more than just about seeing them—it features a variety of bands playing daily, making it a weekend filled with live music and great company. In her downtime, she finds peace being outdoors, tending to her flowers, and watching wildlife.

In 2022, Carolyn was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic bone cancer, a life-altering event that inspired her to adopt a holistic lifestyle. She embraced vegetarianism, started juicing daily, and practices yoga regularly. She also enjoys attending aqua yoga and Zumba classes at the YMCA. Working at Dental Express Staffing has given Carolyn the flexibility to balance her treatments with her work, something she deeply values.
Her advice to those considering a career in the dental industry: “If you’re compassionate and patient, it’s a deeply rewarding field.”
